2005 Biggest Teller of Tales Eric McClure with the Lying Stick is telling his tale for this year . This stick has a long history and is presented each year to the biggest teller of tall tales . The winner adds something to the stick and presentes it to the next year's winner . Stick History and it's Winners In 1995 Larry & Ester Calhoun cut a Sassafras stick and put a white ribbon on it. Later they added a turkey feather. In 1996 Buster Grubbs won it and added an iron ram’s head cap, sheep’s wool and a peacock feather (Willene’s maiden name is Peacock). In 1997 Ed Hallagan won it and carved a mountain man face on it and added an iron tip plus a tuft of buffalo hair. In 1998 Greg Milani won it and added a bell and carving. In 1999 Rick Terry won it and added a rawhide Kokopelli. 2000, 2001 and 2002 the stick was lost. In 2003 Libby Garrett won it, but she did nothing to it. In 2004 Richard Allen added brass beads and deer toes. In 2004 Sarah Post won it and added an elk jawbone with teeth and Buster added some Sage. In 2005 Eric McClure won it and added the first arrowhead point he made and a turkey feather that it took two Indians and 19 shots to get the turkey.
